Counting the Omer

Daily Prayer Guide: Evenings of April 8 - May 26

During the counting of the Omer we are counting the days from Passover to Shavuot.
“Then you are to count from the morrow after the Shabbat, from the day that you brought the omer of the wave offering, seven complete Shabbatot. Until the morrow after the seventh Shabbat you are to count fifty days, and then present a new grain offering to Adonai.”
— Leviticus 23:15–16

“Seven weeks you are to count for yourself—from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain you will begin to count seven weeks.”
— Deuteronomy 16:9

Week 1 – Personal Revival

“Will You not revive us again, so Your people may rejoice in You?”

— Psalm 85:7
  • Day 1: Pray for a thirst for G-d – O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You. My soul thirsts for You. My flesh longs for You in a dry and weary land, where there is no water. (Psalm 63:1)

  • Day 2: Pray for a longing for His Word – Turn my heart to Your testimonies and not to dishonest gain. Turn my eyes away from gazing at vanity but revive me in Your ways. Fulfill Your word to Your servant, which leads to reverence for You. Make the disgrace I dread pass away, for Your judgments are good. Behold, I long for Your precepts. Revive me by Your righteousness. (Psalm 119:36-40)

  • Day 3: Pray for G-d to align your heart toward Him – Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from Your presence—take not Your Ruach ha-Kodesh from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit. (Psalm 51:12-14)

  • Day 4: Pray for a restoration in relationships – So lay aside lying and “each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. “Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun go down on your anger, nor give the devil a foothold. (Ephesians 4:25-27)

  • Day 5: Pray for a love for the lost – And He was telling them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, beg the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. (Luke 10:2)

  • Day 6: Pray for personal repentance – If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8-9)

  • Day 7: Pray for personal action – In the same way, let your light shine before men so they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

Week 2 – Revival In Our Homes

“Love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These words, which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart. You are to teach them diligently to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up. Bind them as a sign on your hand, they are to be as frontlets between your eyes, and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

— Deuteronomy 6:5-8
  • Day 8: Pray for our homes to be set apart to Adonai – “Now therefore, fear ADONAI and worship Him in sincerity and in truth. Get rid of the gods that your fathers had worshipped beyond the River and in Egypt, and worship ADONAI.” (Joshua 24:14)

  • Day 9: Pray for unsaved family members – They said, “Put your trust in the Lord Yeshua and you will be saved—you and your household!” (Acts 16:31)

  • Day 10: Pray for relationships between wives and husbands – Also submit yourselves to one another out of reverence for Messiah— wives to your own husbands as to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:21–22)

  • Day 11: Pray for relationships between parents and children – “He will turn the hearts of fathers to the children, and the hearts of children to their fathers—else I will come and strike the land with utter destruction.”

  • Day 12: Pray for prodigal children – And he got up and went to his own father. But while he was still far away, his father saw him and felt compassion. He ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. (Luke 15:20)

  • Day 13: Pray for generational blessings – For He established a testimony in Jacob and ordained Torah in Israel, which He commanded our fathers to teach their children, so that the next generation might know, even the children yet to be born: they will arise and tell their children. Then they will put their trust in God, not forgetting the works of God, but keeping His mitzvot. (Psalm 78:5–7)

  • Day 14: Pray for holiness relationship – “He chose us in the Messiah before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless before Him in love.” (Ephesians 1:4)

Week 3 – CBM Leadership Revival

“Shepherd God’s flock among you. Watch over it not under compulsion but willingly before God, not for dishonest gain but eagerly. Don’t lord it over those apportioned to you, but become examples to the flock. When the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.”

— 1 Peter 5:2-4
  • Day 15: Pray for holiness – Now may the God of shalom Himself make you completely holy; and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept complete, blameless at the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. Faithful is the One who calls you—and He will make it happen. (1 Thessalonians 5:23–24)

  • Day 16: Pray for the rabbis at CBM – I solemnly charge you—in the presence of God and Messiah Yeshua, who is about to judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom— proclaim the Word! Be ready when it is convenient or inconvenient. Confront, rebuke, encourage—with complete patience and instruction. (2 Timothy 4:1–2)

  • Day 17: Pray for the staff at CBM – Now may the God of patience and encouragement grant you to be like-minded with one another in the manner of Messiah Yeshua, so that together with one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. (Romans 15:5-6)

  • Day 18: Pray for the shameshim of CBM – Therefore if there is any encouragement in Messiah, if there is any comfort of love, if there is any fellowship of the Ruach, if there is any mercy and compassion, then make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love, united in spirit, with one purpose. Do nothing out of selfishness or conceit, but with humility consider others as more important than yourselves, looking out not only for your own interests but also for the interests of others. (Philippians 2:1–4)

  • Day 19: Pray for the ministry leaders at CBM – Above all, keep your love for one another constant, for “love covers a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable one to another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of the many-sided grace of God. (1 Peter 4:8–10)

  • Day 20: Pray for all those who serve at CBM – And answering, the King will say to them, ‘Amen, I tell you, whatever you did to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ (Matthew 25:40)

  • Day 21: Pray for humility – Likewise, you younger ones, submit yourselves to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may lift you up at the appropriate time. (1 Peter 5:5-6)

Week 4 – Beth Messiah Revival

“Therefore, ever since I heard of your trust in the Lord Yeshua and of your love for all the kedoshim, I never stop giving thanks for you as I mention you in my prayers— that the God of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, our glorious Father, may give you spiritual wisdom and revelation in knowing Him.”

— Ephesians 1:15-17
  • Day 22: Pray for the presence of Adonai in our services – When You did awesome things that we were not expecting, You came down—the mountains shook at Your presence! For from days of old no one has heard, no ear perceived, no eye has seen God, except You, who acts on behalf of the one waiting for Him. (Isaiah 64:2–3)

  • Day 23: Pray for an outpouring of the Ruach – So it will be afterward, I will pour out My Ruach on all flesh: your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. (Joel 3:1)

  • Day 24: Pray for the gifts of the Ruach – If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Ruach ha-Kodesh to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13)

  • Day 25: Pray for unity – Therefore I, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you were called— with complete humility and gentleness, with patience, putting up with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Ruach in the bond of shalom. (Ephesians 4:1–3)

  • Day 26: Pray for love – If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains but have not love, I am nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:1-2)

  • Day 27: Pray for the power of the Ruach – These signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak new languages; they will handle snakes; and if they drink anything deadly, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well. (Mark 16:17–18)

  • Day 28: Pray for signs and wonders – And now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant Your servants to speak Your word with utmost courage— while You stretch out Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy Servant Yeshua.” (Acts 4:29–30)

Week 5 – CBM Outreach Revival

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Ruach ha-Kodesh, teaching them to observe all I have commanded you. And remember! I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

— Matthew 28:19-20
  • Day 29: Pray for the salvation and restoration of Israel – Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for Israel is for their salvation. (Romans 10:1)

  • Day 30: Pray for the grace of Adonai – Therefore, ADONAI is longing to be gracious to you. Thus He will be exalted, so He may have mercy on you. For ADONAI is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him. (Isaiah 30:18)

  • Day 31: Pray for returning in repentance – Return O Israel, to ADONAI your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity. Take words with you and return to ADONAI. Say to Him: “Take away all iniquity, and accept what is good, so we may repay with offerings of our lips. (Hosea 14:2–3)

  • Day 32: Pray for the glory of Adonai to be revealed – For the earth will be filled with knowing the glory of ADONAI, as the waters cover the sea. (Habakkuk 2:14)

  • Day 33: Pray for Divine intervention – Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, listen and act! For Your own sake, O my God, do not delay! For Your city and Your people are called by Your name. (Daniel 9:19)

  • Day 34: Pray for the harvest – Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest that He may send out workers into His harvest field.” (Matthew 9:37–38)

  • Day 35: Pray that spiritual eyes may be opened – I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what is the richness of His glorious inheritance in the kedoshim, and what is His exceedingly great power toward us who keep trusting Him—in keeping with the working of His mighty strength. (Ephesians 1:18–19)

Week 6 – Revival in Messianic Congregations

“So Messiah’s community throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had shalom and was built up. Walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Ruach ha-Kodesh, it kept multiplying.”

— Acts 2:46-47
  • Day 36: Pray for Divine favor – Day by day they continued with one mind, spending time at the Temple and breaking bread from house to house. They were sharing meals with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord was adding to their number those being saved. (Acts 2:46-47)

  • Day 37: Pray for revival at CBM – When the day of Shavuot had come, they were all together in one place. Suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. (Acts 2:1)

  • Day 38: Pray for Messianic congregations in Houston – Now this I pray, that your love might overflow still more and more in knowledge and depth of discernment, in order to approve what is excellent—so that in the Day of Messiah you may be sincere and blameless, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Yeshua the Messiah, to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:9-11)

  • Day 39: Pray for Messianic congregations in Texas – Pursue shalom with everyone, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14)

  • Day 40: Pray for Messianic congregations in America – With this in mind, we pray for you constantly, that our God may consider you worthy of the calling and fulfill with power every good desire and work of faith, so the name of our Lord Yeshua may be glorified in you, and you in Him, in keeping with the grace of our God and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah. (2 Thessalonians 1:11–12)

  • Day 41: Pray for Messianic congregations in Israel – “Prophesy over these bones,” He said to me. “Say to them: ‘Dry bones, hear the word of ADONAI!’ Thus says ADONAI Elohim to these bones: “Behold, I will cause Ruach to enter you, so you will live. I will attach tendons to you, bring flesh on you and cover you with skin. Then I will put breath in you. You will live. You will know that I am ADONAI.” (Ezekiel 37:4–6)

  • Day 42: Pray for Messianic congregations around the world – Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you are able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:10-12)

Week 7 – Revival In Israel

“I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected His people whom He knew beforehand. … So in the same way also at this present time there has come to be a remnant according to God’s gracious choice.”
— Romans 11:1-25

  • Day 43: Pray for the light of Messiah to be revealed in Israel – Arise, shine, for your light has come! The glory of Adonai has risen on you. (Isaiah 60:1)

  • Day 44: Pray for revival in Jerusalem – Pray for the peace of Jerusalem— “May those who love you be at peace! May there be shalom within your walls— quietness within your palaces.” For the sake of my brothers and friends, I now say: “Shalom be within you.” For the sake of the House of ADONAI our God, I will seek your good. (Psalm 122:6–9)

  • Day 45: Pray for a revelation of Messiah Yeshua – “Then I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication, when they will look toward Me whom they pierced. They will mourn for him as one mourns for an only son and grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for a firstborn. (Zechariah 12:10)

  • Day 46: Pray for renewal in Israel – Then I will sprinkle clean water on you and you will be clean from all your uncleanness and from all your idols. Moreover, I will give you a new heart. I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the stony heart from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Ruach within you. Then I will cause you to walk in My laws, so you will keep My rulings and do them. Then you will live in the land that I gave to your fathers. You will be My people and I will be your God. (Ezekiel 36:25–28)

  • Day 47: Pray for a hunger to seek Messiah Yeshua – “You will seek Me and find Me, when you will search for Me with all your heart. Then I will be found by you,” says ADONAI, “and I will return you from exile, and gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,” says ADONAI, “and I will bring you back to the place from which I removed you as captives into exile.” (Jeremiah 29:13–14)

  • Day 48: Pray that Israel will return to Adonai – Therefore tell them, thus says ADONAI-Tzva’ot, ‘Return to Me’—it is a declaration of ADONAI-Tzva’ot—‘and I will return to you,’ says ADONAI-Tzva’ot. (Zechariah 1:3)

  • Day 49: Pray for repentance in Israel – When My people, over whom My Name is called, humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
