B’nai Mitzvah Class
The B’nai Mitzvah class is for children ages 11-12 who are interested in having a Bar/Bat Mitzvah. If you think your child would want a Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony when he/she turns 13, the two-year program starts when they are 11, and they need to attend the B’nai Mitzvah class! You must be members at CBM to have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony, but anyone can attend the class.
Bar Mitzvah (בַּר מִצְוָה) & Bat Mitzvah (בַּת מִצְוָה) (lit., “son/daughter of the commandment”) is the celebration of a boy’s 13th birthday and a girl's 12th birthday according to Jewish tradition, when the child officially stands as part of a responsible member of the community. Upon reaching this age, the girl or boy recognizes their responsibility to live a life of covenant faithfulness, observing the Torah, Worshiping the Messiah Yeshua, and serving as a member within the community. Our Bar/Bat mitzvah program welcomes children from all backgrounds to participate in this wonderful celebration that has been part of the Jewish community for centuries.Under the direction of Rabbi Todd White your son or daughter will receive instructions on how to read Hebrew, learn about Jewish History, and our unique Messianic heritage in Yeshua.
Parents, you now have a choice for your 11-12 year olds to attend youth services. If your children are not interested in doing a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, they can join the Youth Ministry for relevant Scripture teaching and worship tailored to youth, and small group discussions separated by age groups.
