Day 15

hen one’s ways are pleasing to Adonai, he makes even his enemies be at peace with him. - Proverbs 16:7

Heart Thoughts

There is an old maxim: nothing succeeds like success. Success leads to opportunities for further and greater successes. When Israel was brought out of the empire of Egypt by Adonai not only did He rescue them, He caused them to be highly favored. Adonai caused their enemies to be at peace with them and to highly favor them.

I know many people who spend their whole life responding to their enemies in one of three ways: fight, flight or freeze. They either fight back in the flesh. Or, they run away from their problem. Or, they don’t do anything at all. They spend all their time and energy rehearsing how powerful their enemy is, how angry they are about their enemy or how there is just nothing they can do about their enemy. It does not have to be this way, Adonai has a better way.

When you line your life up with Adonai’s Word and His Will, Adonai creates a fourth option. He can cause you to be highly favored in the eyes of those who once were mean, cruel or even abusive. He can cause a boss that use to be your lid, to become your spring board to the next promotion. He can turn that neighbor from your worst nightmare, to your greatest promoter. He can cause your enemies to be at peace with you. He loves to do this because He knows you love lining your life up with His Word and His Will.

Do you have to be perfect in His Word and His Will? NO! Adonai knows you will never be perfect. He calls you to have faith. Faith that Adonai will do what only Adonai can do. He calls you to trust Him even when you fail. To trust His love when you confess your sin. To trust that forgiveness means wiping the slate down clean. Adonai bears no grudges. He delights in forgiveness, delights in showing mercy to a thousand generations. He does delight in you. You don’t have to be perfect, you just need to be faith-filled.

Bracha

May Adonai make your enemies to be at peace with you. May He make you highly favored in the eyes of unruly bosses, co-workers and other relationship. May He make your footsteps firm and your ways pleasing before Him.
